Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve intent to accept lease offer and authorize initiation of upset bid process
Introduction & Background: The County has been working with Piedmont Health for expansion of their facilities and co-location with the County Health Department.
Discussion & Analysis: We have identified a location on a county owned parcel across from Chatham Hospital on Progress Blvd. A third party, Siler City Investment LLC, has agreed to construct a facility that will include approximately 7,000 square feet of finished office space for use by Chatham County in addition to the space needs for Piedmont Health. The cost of the lease will be $1 per year for 99 years in exchange for the county leasing approximately 5 acres to Siler City Investment LLC for the facility at a cost of $1 per year for 99 years.
