Vote to adopt a resolution to approve the conveyance of kitchen equipment that is County property, to the Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.

 

Abstract

Vote on a request to adopt a resolution to approve the conveyance of kitchen equipment that is County property, to the Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.

 

Introduction & Background: The Chatham County Public Health Department receives Healthy Communities grant funds from the North Carolina Division of Public Health. The purpose of these funds is to implement strategies that help to reduce the burden of chronic disease.

Discussion & Analysis:

Providing kitchen equipment, purchased with Healthy Communities grant funds, and conveying this equipment to the Saint Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church will help this Chatham non-profit serve healthy meals to Chatham County community members who are experiencing food insecurity. Improving access to healthy food is an approved Health Communities grant strategy that can help decrease chronic diseases and improve health.
