Vote to accept an additional $258 from NC DHHS to support child health programming at CCPHD

 

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote to accept $258 for Child Health Program additional funds. 

                     

Introduction & Background:

Chatham County Public Health Department has a Memorandum of Assurance with Piedmont Health Services for assurance of preventative and sick care. Chatham County Public Health Department will continue to provide Newborn Home Visits as well as Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) services for children and adolescents of Chatham County. The Local Health Department shall procure continuing education to support pediatric clinical service objectives for providers and staff. Workforce development must focus on clinical issues for the Local Health Department’s population; examples include an increase in recommended immunization rates, improvements in asthma management; and/or reduction or prevention of childhood obesity. Workforce development needs should be informed by local data demonstrating a need to improve clinical outcomes; examples include asthma hospital discharge rate, immunization rates for recommended immunizations, or 2- to 4-year-old obesity rates.
