Vote to adopt and present a Proclamation Honoring Arts in Schools Month in Chatham County.

 

Abstract

Introduction & Background:

Chatham County has a rich diverse history of arts including painting, sculpture, literature, architecture, theater, film, and music.

                     

Discussion & Analysis: Arts in Our Schools Month provides an excellent opportunity for our community to come together to support the tireless efforts of educations who inspire and guide students in exploring their artistic potential. This proclamation recognizing and honoring Arts in Our Schools Month, a dedicated period to celebrate the invaluable contributions of arts education to the holistic development of our students.

 

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: A Plan Chatham goal is to provide equitable access to high quality educational options for all. When we showcase the talents of our students, not only do we shape well-rounded individuals, but we also emphasize the enduring importance of arts education.

 

Budgetary Impact: While there is no budgetary impact of the proclamation honoring arts in schools, the support and participation in acknowledging Arts in Our Schools Month will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of arts education within our educational system.
