Introduction & Background: Chatham DSS has been awarded $70,140 to distribute to young adults who are currently 18-26 years old and were in foster care at age 14+. Many did not qualify for stimulus payments related to Covid-19 and NC Division of Social Services intends for the funds to provide needed assistance.
Discussion & Analysis: This additional funding provided to Chatham DSS is restricted to young adults in foster care at 14+ years of age and are currently 18-26 years old. Eligibility for the program has been established by NC DSS and no matching funds are necessary.
