Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve the contract amendment adding the Guaranteed Maximum Price to the existing Construction Manager @ Risk contract in place with Balfour Beatty Construction for the new Emergency Operations Center project.
Introduction & Background: Chatham County entered into a Construction Manager @ Risk contract with Balfour Beatty Construction on June 15, 2020 for Phase I of the new Emergency Operations Center project. Phase I consisted of primarily site work, road work, and some utility work and is nearing completion. This request addresses adding Phase II to the existing contract which relates to the actual building and remaining site work portions of the project along with the associated Guaranteed Maximum Price.
Discussion & Analysis: It is being requested that the BOC approve the contract amendment adding the Guaranteed Maximum Price to the existing Construction Manager @ Risk contract in place with Balfour Beatty Construction for the new Emergency Operations Center project.

Budgetary Impact: This project is proceeding in accordance with the budget as established with the Manager’s Office and Finance Office. The Guaranteed Maximum Price included in the amendment is $19,569,001.00.
