Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve Chatham County’s 2021 Schedule of Values
Introduction and Background: In accordance with the provisions of NCGS 105-317, the Schedule of Values is to be used in appraising real property in Chatham County. This manual is also used as a guide for taxpayers to determine and understand the methods, rules and standards by which real property is appraised. The Schedule of Values is intended to serve as a guideline to determine the statutory requirement of “true value” as identified in NCGS 105-283 being the objective of each appraisal.
Discussion and Analysis: In accordance with NCGS 105-317(c), the Schedule of Values shall be reviewed and approved by the Board of County Commissioners before January 1, 2021. Following approval, notice will be published once a week for four consecutive weeks notifying the public of approval.
