Title

Vote on a request to accept $311,922 Covid-19-Preparedness and Response Additional Funds.

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a request to accept $311,922 Covid-19-Preparedness and Response Additional Funds.

Introduction & Background: NC General Assembly passed Session Law 2020-4(H1043) to fulfill their constitutional duty to appropriate all funds, including federal CARES Act funds appropriated or otherwise made available under the COVID-19 Recovery Legislation, and to direct the use of those funds in a manner that is consistent with the authorizing federal legislation and that responsibly provides for the public health and economic well-being or North Carolina.  Through this legislation, the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) was stablished.

Discussion & Analysis: This Agreement Addendum Revision #1 makes funding originally allocated to State Fiscal Year (SFY)22 available in SFY21 to further enhance the Local Health Department’s ability to prevent, prepare for, and respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by carrying out surveillance, epidemiology, laboratory capacity, infection control, mitigation, communications, and other preparedness and response activities.  Funding guidelines are updated to include additional allowable services.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan:

Budgetary Impact: No Local Funding Requested.

Recommendation: Vote on a request to accept $311,922 Covid-19-Preparedness and Response Additional Funds.
