Action Requested: Vote on a request to accept $50 Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) additional Funds
Introduction & Background: The LHD shall assist eligible women with a breast or cervical cancer diagnosis that is less than 90 days old with applying for Medicaid. Providers are no longer required to a provide a screening or diagnostic work-up for patients to apply for Breast and Cervical Cancer Medicaid (BCCM).
Discussion & Analysis: Women diagnosed outside of the NC BCCCP program with breast and/or cervical cancer and/or pre-cancerous lesions with a diagnosis that is less than 90 days old, and who meet NC BCCCP eligibility criteria may receive patient navigation-only (PN-only) services to apply for BCCM. Patients who receive PN-only services to apply for BCCM will count as a PN-only target and the LHD will be eligible to receive $25 per capita reimbursement for them.
