TITLE

ABSTRACT

Action Requested: Vote on a request granting Dan LaMontagne as County Manager the ability to sign the Guaranteed Maximum Price Exhibit A adding the cost of construction for Phase 1 of the new Emergency Operations Center facility to Balfour Beatty Construction Company's existing Construction Manager contract.

Introduction & Background: The Construction Manager is bidding Phase 1 of the project and will be assembling the pricing for the construction of that portion of the new Emergency Operations Center. Phase 1 consists of construction of the access road (Innovation Way), extension and installation of some of the utilities, and rough grading of the overall site. This work is being expedited to assist in access for the current radio tower project that will place a tower on the building site. The A133 Exhibit A is needed to add the construction cost to Balfour Beatty's Construction Company's original Construction Manager contract. This request grants the County Manager authority to sign up to, but not in excess of $2,000,000 for Phase 1.

Discussion & Analysis: Upon approval of the Exhibit, the Construction Manager will be able to begin construction with anticipated completion of Phase 1in early 2021.

Budgetary Impact: This project is proceeding in accordance with the budget as established in the CIP process.
