Motion to approve recommendations from the Recreation Advisory Committee for the Grants to Recreation Agencies.
Introduction & Background:
Three recreation agencies submitted applications for the Grants to Recreation Agencies process .All three agencies; East Chatham Baseball, Sprott Youth Center, and Chatham Soccer League. presented before the Recreation Advisory Committee through the Go TO Meeting virtual format. The amount allocated for this grant is $20,300.
East Chatham Baseball requested funds for a scoreboard, two batting cages and a mower.
Sprott Youth Center requested funds for a weekday and weekend open gym attendant and operating expenses.
Chatham Soccer League requested funds for scholarships, administrator, maintenance, supplies and equipment.
Discussion & Analysis:
The Recreation Advisory Committee used the matrix score system and general discussion to make their recommendations.
Based on the matrix score system, the Sprott Youth Center scored the highest, therefore the Recreation Advisory Committee recommended the whole request for the open gym attendant for the modified season. The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $6,300.00
For Chatham Soccer League, the Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $5,600 for supplies and equipment for the recreation division only.
For East Chatham baseball, the Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $8,400.00 for a scoreboard and batting cages.
