Action Requested: Vote on a request to accept $6,500 Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) additional Funds
Introduction & Background: The goal of the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (NC BCCCP) is to reduce the morbidity and mortality due to breast and cervical cancers in women by providing breast and cervical cancer screening services for eligible underserved women of North Carolina.
Discussion & Analysis: The capitated rate for each woman served was increased under Agreement Addendum Revision #1.
That Revision #1 also provided additional federal funding to coincide with this increased rate but it did not provide any additional state funding. Without an increase in state funding, the Revision #1 should have reduced the number of women who are to be served with state funding.
This Agreement Addendum Revision #2 now corrects that error and the number of women served with state funding coincides with the funding available.
