Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve awarding Certificates of Appreciation for Long Time Volunteer Committee Service for volunteers serving two terms.
Introduction & Background: We sometimes have volunteers who have served on boards and committees for an extended time. It requires a great deal of dedication to serve more than one full term. We are recommending the creation of Certification of Appreciation to be signed and presented by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to anyone leaving service on board or committee after serving at least TWO terms. Most terms are for three years but some people come on and fill the rest of the last member’s term. We would like for these volunteers to be included. They will be invited to the board meeting to receive their certification.
Discussion & Analysis: This is a no-cost way to honor people who have given their time and hard work serving on a county board or committee.
