Action Requested: Vote on a request to appoint Jessica Norton, Detention Lieutenant, as Deputy Finance Officer for the purpose of signing inmate trust account checks
Introduction & Background: The Detention Division of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department manages funds of individuals who are incarcerated in the Chatham County jail. The funds that are collected upon incarceration and funds that are deposited on the inmates’ behalf, if not spent while incarcerated, are returned to the inmate when they leave the facility. If inmates are transferred to another facility, a check must be issued for the balance of funds in the inmate’s account.
