Review Issues with State Legislators

 

Abstract

Action Requested: Review of several legislative issues to discuss with Rep. Robert Reives and Sen. Valerie Foushee on March 16, 2018. 

                     

Introduction & Background: We have set up a breakfast meeting with Rep. Reives and Sen. Foushee to discuss legislative issues of interest to Chatham County. Here are potential issues that could come up in 2018:

                     Local Government Impact Fees

                     Economic Development Tiers

                     S126 Redistribution of Art. 40 Sales Tax Based Economic Tiers

                     Farm Equipment Tax Exemption

                     S434 Limits on Local Stream Buffers

                     County Broadband Authority

                     Increased Funds for Home & Community Care Block Grants

                     Proposed Amendments to NC State Constitution

                     Provide Process to Sever Mineral Rights after Notification
