Action Requested: Award the Employee of the Quarter Award to Rachael Thorn, Land and Water Resources Supervisor
Introduction & Background: Recently, Land and Water Resources Supervisor Rachel Thorn worked with the new owners and surrounding property owners of the property formerly known as Range 2A in an effort to bring all parties to the table and commit to work in a collaborative and forward thinking solution regarding activity on the property.
Rachel single-handedly worked for months with the new owners and nearby property owners to help them reestablish trust in each other and in county government. She navigated the situation expertly, facilitating discussions with property owners about concerns on both sides and helped them work out an agreement about when it is ok to shoot.
Rachael’s work above and beyond to insure a peaceful and collaborative solution in the community for the benefits of the citizens and the county is the reason she deserves to be named employee of the quarter.
