Abstract

Action Requested: Approve Lease Proposal

Introduction & Background

The NC VIPER system provides emergency communication services.

Chatham County has provided space on its communication tower located at 9586 Siler City Glendon Road, Bear Creek, North Carolina for several years.  The State has asked the County to renew the lease for a 30-year term.  Payment to the County is $1 per year.  The State will provide a lease once the proposal has been accepted.  In turn, the State has also agreed to reciprocate and allow the County to place county equipment on the VIPER tower in the future at no cost to the County.
