Abstract
Action Requested: Renewal of insurance contracts with Delta Dental and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina
Introduction & Background: Annually, Chatham County examines its options with regard to benefit administrators for health and dental insurance. Since 2007, Chatham County has contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina to administer our self-funded health insurance program for employees and dependents. Staff is recommending continuing with BCBSNC for the administration of our health plan. Renewal documents outlining changes consistent with required changes due to changes and compliance with federal law or BCBSNC policy are attached hereto and by reference made a part thereof.
In addition to recommendation for health insurance, staff also recommends continuing our contractual relationship with Delta Dental to provide administration of our self-funded dental plan. Renewal contract is attached hereto and by reference made a part thereof.
