Action Requested: Vote on a Request to award bid to Lankford Protective Services, Inc. for Staffing and Operating Chatham County Collection Centers, approve the contract and authorize the County Manager to execute the contract.
Introduction & Background: The County has twelve collection centers for solid waste and recycling services for citizens in the unincorporated areas. The county owns the centers and attendants are provided, through contracted services, to staff and operate the centers.
Discussion & Analysis: A request for proposal process was conducted and the bids were evaluated. Lankford Protective Services, Inc. provided the lowest, most responsive bid and the evaluation committee recommends the contract be awarded to Lankford Protective Services, Inc. The contract is for three years, beginning on July 1, 2017, with the option for two one-year renewals.
Budgetary Impact: $737,622.08 annually
