Title

Vote on a request to adopt a Resolution Declaring Property Surplus and Authorizing the Conveyance of Property to Chatham Habitat for Humanity.

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a request to adopt a Resolution Declaring Property Surplus and Authorizing the Conveyance of Property to Chatham Habitat for Humanity.

Introduction & Background: The Chatham County Board of Commissioners has identified affordable housing as a high priority. As a result, staff has utilized the land conveyance process for affordable housing to convey two surplus parcels of land in Moncure (parcels 61967 and 61968) to Habitat for Humanity for the purpose of constructing affordable housing. The land conveyance process is in accord with G.S. 153A-378, which authorizes counties to convey real properties by private sale to entities that provide affordable housing to low or moderate income persons.
