Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to award the bid, in the amount of $124,683.00, for the RTU/PLC and Instrumentation Retrofit Project at the Chatham County WTP to Rovisys, and approve Renee Paschal, County Manager, to sign the contract on behalf of the County.
Introduction & Background: The Chatham County WTP has 2 existing major PLC units that are outdated and repair parts are unavailable. Bids were sought through the RFP process and we received three responses.
Discussion & Analysis: The approved contractor will complete the installation of a PLC retrofit system. Under this proposal the contractor shall provide one RTU/PLC to replace the existing PLC-B filter control panel, instrumentation to provide level indication in each filter cell, and one RTU/PLC to replace the existing PLC-A main plant control panel. The contractor will ensure communication from the new PLC units to the current SCADA system.
Budgetary Impact: Approved in the 2017 budget
