Vote on a request to approve awarding Certificates of Appreciation for Long-Time Volunteer Committee Service
Abstract
Action Requested: Review and approve the creation of Certificates of Appreciation for long-time service on volunteer boards and committees.
Introduction & Background: We sometimes have volunteers who have served on boards and committees for an extended time. It requires a great deal of dedication to serve more than one full term. We are recommending the creation of Certification of Appreciation to be signed and presented by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to anyone leaving service on board or committee after serving at least TWO full terms. They will be invited to the board meeting to receive their certification. An example of what the certificate will look like is included as an attachment. We will work with staff assigned to committees and boards to ensure that we identify these people in a timely manner.
Discussion & Analysis: This is a no-cost way to honor people who have given their time and hard work serving on a county board or committee.
