Abstract
Introduction & Background: The Board of Adjustments assumes the role of hearing and deciding upon appeals and variances of county land use and development regulations. It was created through text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance (Section 18.1) on May 18, 2015.
The Board of Adjustment has five voting members (one representing each commissioner district) and two at-large alternates. The commissioners may appoint someone outside the BOC district if there are no applicants from that district or the Board of Commissioners determines that an applicant from another district possesses superior skills and qualifications.
