Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a request to accept $ 545,520.77 Covid-19 ELC Enhancing Detection Activities (continuation from last fiscal year).

                     

Introduction & Background: As part of the “Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act of 2020 (P.L. 116-139, Title I)”, funds were awarded to provide critical resources to state, local, and territorial health departments in support of a broad range of COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 testing and epidemiologic surveillance related activities. These additional are intended to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus” by supporting testing, case investigation and contact tracing, surveillance, containment, and mitigation.

 

Note: These grant funds were originally accepted in FY21 and remaining funds carried over into FY22. This is to accept the remaining funds into the FY23 budget.

 

 

Discussion & Analysis: This carry-over funding will continue to support the public health department’s efforts to respond to Covid-19
