Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Services
Abstract
Action Requested: Request to approve Welford Harris, Inc. and Pittsboro Ford, Inc. for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Services for all County vehicles and, upon review and approval of the contracts by the Chatham County Attorney, Jep Rose, authorize Charlie Horne, Chatham County Manager, to sign the contracts on behalf of the County.
Introduction & Background: The County is outsourcing vehicle maintenance and repairs and used the RFP process to select a garage facility based on the criteria set out in the RFP. Welford Harris, Inc. and Pittsboro Ford, Inc. were selected to provide these services.
Discussion & Analysis: Current analysis indicates that contracting garage services will be cost effective compared to maintaining a county operated garage. (see attachment)
Budgetary Impact: Decrease in vehicle maintenance and repairs. (based on 6 months of data)
Recommendation: Motion to approve Welford Harris, Inc. and Pittsboro Ford, Inc. for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Services for all County vehicles and, upon review and approval of the contracts by the Chatham County Attorney, Jep Rose, authorize Charlie Horne, Chatham County Manager, to sign the contracts on behalf of the County.
