Abstract
Introduction & Background: Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina states that a project ordinance shall be adopted by the governing board for all capital projects.
Discussion & Analysis: Attached is the amended project ordinance for the Chatham County Schools HVAC Replacement and Upgrade as described and approved in the County's 2027-2033 Capital Improvement Plan.
The amended project ordinances for Briar Chapel Park and Emergency Operations Center Expansion have been amended to reflect ending project balances. The projects will be closed at fiscal year end. Any remaining balance in the Emergency Operations Center Expansion will be transferred back to the Reserve Fund.
The project ordinance for Briar Chapel Park Phase II is to continue work on amenities at the location.
The project ordinance for the Sheriff's Office Administration Building is as described and approved in the County's 2027-2033 Capital Improvement Plan.
Budgetary Impact: The budget for the Chatham County Schools HVAC Replacement and Upgrade is being increased by $1,085,590 and will be funded by transfers from the Capital Reserve. The budget for Briar Chapel Park Phase II is $701,940 and will be funded by transfers from Recreation Exaction Fees for Briar Chapel. The budget for the Sheriff's Office Administration Building is $20,000,000 and will be funded by debt proceeds.
The final budget for the Emergency Operations Center Expansion is $29,586,515 and the Briar Chapel Park is $2,025,725.
