Action Requested:
Motion to approve the grants to recreation agencies recommendations.

Introduction & Background:
Three recreation agencies submitted applications for the Grants to Recreation Agencies process. If there were any questions about the applications, the agency was contacted before the Recreation Advisory meeting. The allocated amount for the agencies is $20,300 and the total of $36,301 requested. The description of their requests and the amount requested is listed below.

Sprott Youth Center located in Moncure requested funds for Attendant: 3 hrs/week for 50 weeks @ $22/hr = $3,300 and Gym Rental Fee: $45 per session for 50 weeks = $2,250.

East Chatham Baseball requested funds for concrete apron from dugout to dugout at the East Chatham Field located in Pittsboro in the amount of $11,500 and concrete apron from dugout to dugout at Farrell Field located on Jack Bennett Rd in the amount of $4,500.

Bonlee Recreation requested funds for 15' wide 5 row bleacher in the amount of $6,446 and 21' wide 5 row bleacher in the amount of $8,305.

Discussion & Analysis:
The Recreation Advisory Committee used the matrix score system and general discussion to make their recommendations.

Sprott Youth Center scored 129.67. They requested $5,550. The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $3,300 for attendant.

East Chatham Baseball scored 126.00. They requested $16,000. The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $8,695 for concrete apron.

Bonlee Recreation scored 110.00. They requested $14,751. The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended $8,305 to purchase a 21' 5 row bleacher. (After further discussions the Recreation Advisory Committee thought it was deemed a safety concern and thought it was best to provide them with full amount of the 21' bleacher)
