Action Requested: Motion to surplus weapon and award the service weapon to Investigator Mike Copeland on the event of his retirement from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
Introduction & Background: Investigator Mike Copeland has served 16 years with the county.
Discussion & Analysis: In the past, on the event of a long serving, sworn deputies’ retirement, their assigned service weapon, Glock 9mm, model 17, as been surplused and presented to them upon their retirement. It is our desire to honor Investigator Mike Copeland’s service to Chatham County and its residents in this way.

Budgetary Impact: This will have no effect on our operating budget.
