Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget Ordinance Amendment
Introduction & Background: The mileage reimbursement rate is set annually by the IRS, this year the IRS has implemented a mid-year adjustment so an ordinance amendment is necessary for the County’s reimbursement rate to be consistent with the IRS.
Discussion & Analysis: The IRS has announced a mid-year adjustment to their standard mileage rate for the final 6 months of 2022, increasing from 58.5 cents per mile to 62.5 cents per mile effective July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. The purpose of this amendment is to set the rates currently approved in the FY2022-2023 Budget Ordinance to those set forth by the IRS.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: N/A
Budgetary Impact: Mileage reimbursement is already budgeted within the FY2022-2023 annual operating budget, no additional budgetary impact to this item.
Recommendation: Vote on a request to approve Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget Ordinance Amendment to update the mileage reimbursement rate to 62.5 cents per mile to be consistent with the IRS’s updated rates.
