ABSTRACT
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve the contract for Wayne Roofing to perform the roof replacement at Chatham County DSS.
Introduction & Background: In accordance with a previously approved budget request for FY2019, Chatham County assembled documents and issued a Request For Bids to replace the roof at the Chatham County DSS facility. This replacement is for the older front building on the DSS campus. The bid process was concluded on October 5, 2018 with the opening of the bids from which Wayne Roofing was the apparent low bidder.
Discussion & Analysis: It is being requested that the BOC approve the contract for Wayne Roofing to allow the processes to begin for the roof replacement at Chatham County DSS.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: 7. Provide infrastructure to support desired development and support economic and environmental objectives - by properly maintaining county facilities; 10. Foster a healthy community - by replacing the roof, we will fix all the current leaking issues and will provide a healthier environment in the building for the staff and visitors.
Budgetary Impact: This project is proceeding in accordance with the budget line item as approved in the FY2019 budget for $296,123.
Recommendation: Motion to approve the contract for Wayne Roofing to perform the roof replacement at Chatham County DSS.
