Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute the contract with Granicus for website services for a five (5) year period.
Introduction & Background:
• Currently Chatham County is in its final year of a five-year contract with website service provider Granicus.
• The proposed contract covers the website services of hosting, maintenance and licensing fees for the next five years.
• Chatham County has been pleased with the website services provided by Granicus and would like to continue using its services.
Discussion & Analysis:
• On December 23, 2020, the County Manager executed a contract with Granicus to redesign the Chatham County website.
• The continuation of services by Granicus allows for a smooth transition from the website’s current design to its future design which will provide a refreshed and more modern look as well as provide an improved experience for the public navigating the website and staff providing content management.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Chatham County’s website affects all aspects of the Comprehensive Plan. Having an effective, reliable and comprehensive website is a critical tool in allowing the county to inform the public of services, programs and events for each department and the county as a whole.
Budgetary Impact: Covered in existing budgeted FY21 funds and will be included in future fiscal year budgets.
Recommendation: Authorize the County Manager to negotiate and execute the contract with Granicus for website services for a five (5) year period.
