Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve the three-year contract service for $263,421.00 with ePlus Inc. for the purchase of Varonis software.

Introduction & Background:
Varonis's software allows us to classify sensitive data based on industry standard classification types (PHI, PII, CJIS, etc.) and monitor how the data is being accessed. This includes information on who, when, & how often. The software will also allow us to monitor the level of permissions for our on premise and cloud data to help determine if adjustments need to made or if risks to organizational data exist.

This contract is related to the FY23 Data Governance expansion in MIS's budget.
Discussion & Analysis:
Chatham County MIS is purchasing Varonis's software to monitor our county data on premise and in the cloud. Varonis also provides incident response services and tools to help the county detect, and respond, if nefarious network activity with our data is occurring (i.e. ransomware). The solution is being purchased as part of our FY23 Data Governance expansion and will help the county to continue to expand our security posture organization wide, specifically targeting protection of our data.
