Vote to approve a contract with Black Diamond Designs, Inc for $146,723.02 for the Pokeberry Tributary Trail construction at the Park at Briar Chapel and for $39,132 for the George Pauly Nature Trail at Northeast District Park

Abstract
Introduction & Background: The county's Trails and Open Space Planner has designed and flagged two trails at county parks which will require professional trail builders to construct them.

The Pokeberry Tributary Trail at The Park at Briar Chapel (PABC) includes the installation of two bridges and a boardwalk and approximately 3/4 of a mile of natural surface trail tread.

The George Pauly Nature Trail at the county's Northeast District Park (NEDP) is also approximately 3/4 of a mile of natural surface trail. Budgetary Impact: The cost for construction of the Pokeberry Tributary Trail at PABC is bid at $146,723.02 and will come from the exaction fees earmarked for projects at this location.

The cost for construction of the George Pauly Nature Trail is bid at $39,132. While the Haw River Assembly will reimburse the county for this cost (via signed donation agreement), it will initially need to be paid out from the general fund.

Recommendation/Motion: Motion to approve a contract with Black Diamond Designs, Inc for $146,723.02 for the P...
