Title

Vote to adopt a resolution declaring property surplus and authorizing sale of said property

Abstract

Introduction & Background: The County must comply with statutory procedures when disposing of personal property. NCGS 160A-270 (public auction) requires the board to adopt a resolution authorizing an appropriate County official to dispose of the property at public auction. The resolution shall identify the property to be sold and set out the date, time, place, and terms of the sale.

Discussion & Analysis: The County has several vehicles that have been removed from service. The public auction will be held online, beginning March 17, 2026, and ending May 1, 2026. The surplus property is located at the surplus lot on Renaissance Drive, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: There are no identified goals set in Plan Chatham associated with the declaration of surplused property.

Budgetary Impact: Surplusing the identified property has no impact on the budget.

Recommendation/Motion: Motion to adopt the Resolution Declaring Property Surplus and Authorizing Sale of Said Property.
