Vote to accept $8,500 in grant funds from Duke Energy Foundation for the Bynum Community Garden Rebuild
Abstract
Introduction & Background: Chatham County applied for and has received notification of award for an $8,500 grant to rebuild the Bynum Community Garden after Bynum Water Tank and soil remediation in the area. This rebuild will include garden beds, tool shed, and other items to restore ability of residents to utilize the garden.
Discussion & Analysis: The acceptance of this award will assist with the redevelopment of the Bynum Community Garden.
How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: This item relates to HL Policy 6 by broadening interest and helping to advance small-scale production of fruits and vegetables.
