Action Requested: Vote on a request to approve reappointment to Jury Commission
Introduction & Background: Pursuant to NCGS 9-1, “…there shall be appointed in each County a Jury Commission of three members. One member of the Commission shall be appointed by the senior regular resident Court Judge, one member by the Clerk of Superior Court, and one member by the Board of County Commissioners.”
Current members include the following:
1) Reba Thomas Appointed by Judge Fox
2) Emily Foushee Appointed by Chair, Walter Petty
3) Larry Cheek Appointed by Clerk of Superior Court
Discussion & Analysis: The Clerk of Superior Court requests that Emily Foushee be reappointed as a member of the Jury Commission for Chatham County pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 9-1, for a term of two years, beginning July 1, 2015-June 30, 2017.
Budgetary Impact: N/A
Recommendation: Reappoint Emily Foushee to the 2015-2017 Jury Commission.
