Vote on a request to Adopt a Resolution in Support of the Connect NC Bond Act
Abstract
Action Requested: Vote to approve the attached resolution and forward to our state legislators and Governor McCrory.
Introduction & Background: The Connect NC bond package will be on the ballot in November and includes funds for community colleges and water/sewer projects. It also includes funds to make needed improvements at Jordan Lake State Park. More information on the projects funded can be found at: <http://connect.nc.gov/>
Discussion & Analysis: The NC Association of County Commissioners has asked us to adopt a resolution in support of this bond referendum and encourage our residents to learn more about it before the November election.
Budgetary Impact: Unspecified at this time, but if passed, it will include loans and grants for water and sewer projects that the towns or the county might tap.
Recommendation: Vote to approve the resolution.
