Introduction & Background:
The Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution at the May 4, 2015 meeting, "Declaring Real Property Surplus and Authorizing the Sale of Said Property in the Negotiated Offer, Advertisement and Upset Bid Process". The legal notice was placed in the Chatham News on May 7, 2015, with sealed upset offers due by May 18, 2015 at 5:00 PM. No additional offers were made.
Discussion & Analysis:
The offer for parcel #60950, located at 2625 St. Luke Church Rd., Goldston was first considered at the April 20, 2015 Board of Commissioners meeting. The offer was accepted for consideration and the Resolution was adopted on May 4th authorizing the competitive process through the Advertisement and Upset Bid process.
The offer of $4,000 by William Nelson and Valerie Morrow is the original and high offer for consideration. The offeror will be responsible for all deed preparation, filing and closing cost. A $200 bid deposit fee was paid to the County.
