Introduction & Background: The Emergency Operations Plan was developed to give guidance during any emergency that may occur within the county. We cross referenced the Hazard Mitigation plan to ensure our plan was an all hazard multi purpose plan. The previous plan was in an access format which was not user friendly and was hard to navigate through. We have just re-written and transferred the data into a pdf format. This will allow us to display the main portion of the plan on our website so our citizens are able to view a limited portion of the plan without revealing response tactics.
Discussion and Analysis: The plan was revised to give easier access to all county departments to increase their familiarity of the plan. Previously we would update the plan and diligently try to get each department head to sign their portion. This task was difficult due to overlapping schedules it was hard to get all department representatives to sign the agreement. With the revised plan we are able to put a portion on the county website for all our citizens and have a fluid copy on the internal website for all county employees to review. The accessability was an important factor we considered when we chose to change the format of the plan.
