Abstract
Action Requested: Vote on request to approve donation of two Special Incident Response Team (SIRT) riot shields to Central Carolina Community College for their Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.
Introduction & Background: The riot shields for the SIRT team have expired and can no longer be used in the performance of the Sheriff’s Office duties. By donating them to Central Carolina Community College for the BLET program, students will be able to practice with them while training to become a law enforcement officer.
Discussion & Analysis: The Sheriff’s Department submitted a disposal form which was approved by the Finance Officer.
