Introduction & Background: Asthma programs in certain North Carolina communities have demonstrated that asthma trigger assessments conducted in homes of children with poorly controlled asthma improve outcomes for these children. Improve outcomes include reduced school absenteeism, emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and medical care costs.
