Vote on a Request to Approve FY2022-2023 dental insurance administration service contract amendment with Delta Dental and authorize the county manager to execute the contract.

 

Abstract

Action Requested: Vote on a Request to Approve FY2022-2023 dental insurance administration service contract amendment with Delta Dental and authorize the county manager to execute the contract.

                     

Introduction & Background: In FY22, the board of commissioners authorized the execution of a two-year contract with Delta Dental to provide dental insurance to eligible county employees and their dependents.

                     

Discussion & Analysis: At the recommendation of the workforce development committee and the county manager’s office, amendments are proposed to the plan.  The amendments are as follows:

 

Maximum Claims Allowance: Increase from $1,250/plan year to $1,500/plan year

Basic Services Coverage: Increase current coverage level of basic services (cavities, root canals, etc) from 80% to 100%

 

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan:

                     

Budgetary Impact: Increased claims expense related to the plan changes can be absorbed at the current level of funding.

                     

Recommendation: Vote on a Request to Approve FY2022-2023 dental insurance administration service contract amendment with Delta Dental and authorize the county manager to execute the contract.
