Introduction & Background: The county Board of Health is a policy-making, rule-making, and adjudicatory body for the Chatham County Health Department.
According to General Statute 130-35, the composition of the Board shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of the county and shall include: Three public representatives, one Licensed Pharmacist, one Licensed Physician, one Licensed Veterinarian, one Registered Nurse, one Licensed Optometrist, one Licensed Dentist, one County Commissioner, and one Professional Engineer.
