Vote on a request to adopt a resolution recognizing the adoption of the Chatham County Fair Housing Plan for the CDBG-NR Program
Abstract
At the January 22, 2019 board meeting the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing was adopted as our Fair Housing Plan. In order to remain in compliance with the CDBG-NR state and federal guidelines, a resolution must be passed to recognize the adoption.
Introduction & Background:
Chatham County submitted an application to the state in October 2018 for the Community Development Block Grant Neighborhood Revitalization Program. One of the key requirements of the program application and implementation is an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. Withers Ravenel conducted this study for Chatham County and the findings were adopted in January 2019. In order to remain in compliance, staff must submit the resolution in addition to the findings which will serve as the county’s fair housing plan for the next five years.
