Action Requested: Vote to approve the recommended appointments
Introduction & Background:
This committee provides the only county oversight of the mental health delivery system in Chatham County, working with Cardinal Innovations. One of the three people appointed to the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare OPC Community Board needs to be reappointed. Kathy Zinn has been a very active committee member. She would be reappointed to a three-year term ending June 6, 2019.
Neil McAuliffe’s term is also up but he has decided not to continue serving. County Manager Renee Paschal recommends that the Board of Commissioners set aside this seat for her to appoint a county staff person at her discretion. This would provide a vital communications and coordination link between staff level efforts to address mental health services and the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare OPC Community Board. Debra Henzey will be assigned to this seat for the time being. This seat would have a term expiring June 6, 2019.

Recommendation: Approve the reappointment of Kathy Zinn to the Cardinal Innovations Healthcare OPC Community Board and assign the other open seat to be appointed by the County Manager. Both seats would have terms expiring June 6, 2019.
