Vote to approve USDA/FSA Lease in the new Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center and authorize the County Manager to sign the Lease.
Introduction & Background:
The USDA/FSA offices are currently staffed in the AG building on the annex campus. The USDA/FSA headquarters in Washington, DC wishes to move the staff to the new Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center at the beginning of the year. The lease space contains approximately 2,154 square feet. The County intends to lease the property to the United States of America by and through its United States Department of Agriculture-Farm Service Agency (“USDA”-“FSA”) for a term of 9 years, 11 months commencing on the 1st day of January, 2017 (the “Commencement Date”) and shall exist until the 30th day of November 2026, unless terminated as provided in the Lease. The amount of the annual rent for the property will be $36,618.
