Vote to amend the Land Lease with Central Carolina Community College to provide infrastructure for book lockers at the Chatham County Health Sciences Campus
Abstract
Introduction & Background: Chatham County entered into a land lease with Central Carolina Community College in 2018 for the land on which the CCCC-Health Sciences Campus sits off 15-501 North. No major alterations have been made to that building since its original construction.
Discussion & Analysis: Leadership at CCCC has agreed to the placement of a remote book locker on campus that may be accessed by the public to pick up loaned materials from the Chatham County Public Libraries. Chatham County received a grant for two (2) book lockers, one of which will be placed at the Health Sciences Campus, and the other at a location in the Moncure community.
These lockers require a concrete pad as well as access to power and wifi. This lease amendment addresses the alteration caused by the pouring of an 8 foot by 8 foot concrete pad adjacent to the building. This pad will be located at the back of the building near the main parking area. Chatham County will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and replacement of the lockers, and CCCC will be responsible for utility costs (power, wifi) associated with the lockers.
