Vote to adopt a resolution recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Abstract

Introduction & Background: Despite advancements, breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer death among women each year in North Carolina and across the country. Each year, October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness month nationally.

Discussion & Analysis: This resolution brings awareness to an important public health issue in Chatham County and highlights critical services, including the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program offered by the Chatham County Public Health Department, that support Chatham residents.

How does this relate to the Comprehensive Plan: Aligns with plan goal “Foster a healthy community”.

Budgetary Impact: No Local Funding Requested.
