Abstract
Introduction & Background: Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina states that a project ordinance shall be adopted by the governing board for all capital projects.
Discussion & Analysis: The proposed Project Ordinance for the Haw River Trail Pegg Tract Improvements intends to expand paddle and trail access. The proposed Amended Project Ordinance for the Siler City Center for Active Living Renovations reflects a change order for flooring in additional areas of the Center. The proposed Amended Project Ordinances for the Radio System Upgrade, Detention Center Generator and Haw River Recreational Trail have been amended to reflect ending project balances, final transfers and close the projects at the end of the fiscal year.
Budgetary Impact: The budget for the Haw River Trail Pegg Tract Improvements is $502,588 and is funded by a NC Great Trails State Program Grant of $251,294 and a General Fund fund balance appropriation of $251,294. The budget for the Siler City Center for Active Living Renovations is increased by $74,683 to a total of $846,069 and will be funded by a general fund transfer from Aging Services from existing NC Dept. of Health and Human Services grant funds. Final project budgets are $20,726,118 for Radio System Upgrade, $486,746 for Detention Center Generator, and $25,000 for Lower Haw River Recreational Trail.
