Vote to approve the amended FY2026 funding plan for Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
Abstract
Introduction & Background: At the beginning of this fiscal year, there was an amount of $13,333 unallocated in which Communities in Schools submitted a request to enhance the program by offering educational workshops to the referred youth.
Communities in Schools has submitted a budget revision reflecting the increase in the JCPC allocation which is making its way through electronic signature approvals in our NCALLIES system.
Discussion & Analysis: At the meeting on September 5, 2025, the Chatham County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council voted in approval of increasing the DJJ allocation from $60,000 to $73,333 for the Communities in Schools Community Service & Restitution program.
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners will need to approve the amended county funding plan, so that the increase in allocation from North Carolina Department of Public Safety and county matches are appropriated to Communities in Schools.
